In recent years, plenty of actors have come up from television to films, and among them, only few have succeeded. In the Hindi film industry, or Bollywood, we have names like Shah Rukh Khan and Vidya Balan, who have become world famous as actors of class. Of late, plenty of television actors have tried their luck, like Prachi Desai. Her charming smile and sense of impeccable style, her dancing skills and her acting bestow a natural, yet chic feel to the characters she plays, making her an A-list heroine already.
Prachi Desai, born in 1988, is originally from Surat, Gujarat. She moved to Pune to do her higher studies after completing her school education until the ninth grade. As she continued with her education, she sent her photos for an audition for the lead role of a TV series, Kasamh Se. Her first lead role in Kasamh Se, a top-grossing, prime-time series on Zee TV, made her a household name. She was Bani, the protagonist, and for her role, she earned accolades at several television award ceremonies. Her acting got recognized by none other than Farhan Akhtar, who signed her for the next movie, Rock On! She left television and moved on to the silver screen.
Moving on with Movies:
A transition so smooth hardly comes along for everyone. In Rock On, Prachi shone with her subtle portrayal of Elan as the wife of the hero, who rises to help Farhan get back his passion in life. Critics like Taran Adarsh enjoyed her perfomance, and she even won the Best Debutante Filmfare award.
Her other movies, which have released and have fetched her performance accolades, are Life Partner, Once Upon A Time In Mumbai and in Bol Bachchan. Her latest outing has been in 2013 in the film I, Me aur Main opposite John Abraham.
