Tinsel town has created ample stars; some have made it big, while others have vanished over the years. But only a few of them have been consistent throughout their careers. Amongst ample other stars of Bollywood, Sonali Bendre has had a steady and successful career in Bollywood. Although the beautiful lady initially strived to mark her presence amongst various other actresses of her time, she was gradually acclaimed for her brilliant performance in Diljale and Sarfarosh.
Sonali initially started her career as a model before making it big in Bollywood. She was selected for the Star Dust Talent Search, which gradually gave a boost to her acting career. She pursued her training from renowned actors and performers of the film industry, and she got her first break in Aag opposite popular actor, Govinda, for which she grabbed the Filmfare New Face Award in 1995. Initially, she struggled to receive interesting roles but soon, she got acclamation for movies like Zakhm, Duplicate and Hum Sath Sath Hain, amongst others.
Sonali married the director Goldy Behl in 2002, and afterwards, she took a break from her career. However, she made a comeback on the small screen few years after she gave birth to her son, Ranveer, in 2005.
Bendre started out her television career as a host of the TV show Kya Masti Kya Dhoom and was soon seen judging shows like Indian Idol and India’s Got Talent. The actress was also a jury member of the popular talent scouting show, Hindustan ke Hunarbaaz, along with famous choreographer Terence Lewis. Presently, she is amongst the jury members of the one-of-a- kind show India’s Best Dramebaaz.
Apart from her successful Bollywood career, Sonali has also acted in Telugu and Kannada movies. The actress is counted amongst few stars who have grabbed the opportunity to work opposite all the top Khans (Aamir, Saif, Salman and Shahrukh).
